Our hard-working US volunteers work with AIR during the planting season of May-July, planting thousands of tree seedlings and organic vegetable gardens.

AIR-Guatemala hosted 34 volunteers over five weeks this summer—weeks of hard work, spectacular scenery, volcanic eruptions, planting beneficial trees and building friendships.

An important part of AIR’s goal of improving the lives of rural families in Guatemala is education for all ages. We provide farmer training, school programs and curriculum, tree nurseries and gardens at schools, and high school scholarships.

For 21 days in October, AIR Technicians from Guatemala, Don Miguel Lopez and Luis Iquique Socoy, and AIR President Anne Hallum visited ten cities in three states and gave sixteen presentations, including forestry classes at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN.

We have some big news! Our new website is live and we couldn’t be happier. You’ll notice we are still working on some last minute tweaks, but we’d love to hear your thoughts. One part of the website that we are really excited about is this blog.
